  • “The care given to me during my surgery was excellent. I couldn't ask for a better crew then what I had. Very cordial, showed interest regarding comfort, one on one communication. Dr Flint is an excellent Dr who made me feel at ease so as not to be skeptical of the surgery & recovery time. Would recommend him to other patients.”

  • “In December, 2015, I had a complete shoulder replacement, for my left shoulder. I was treated very well by all the nurses, aides, and staff members. My doctor was very encouraging and highly skilled in his profession. My incision is barely noticeable, and it has been a good year since the surgery. Although, the medical plan I had didn't provide me with the proper therapy I needed, I had to continue my therapy at home, which is taking longer for me to heal properly. I shall not give up and will continue to work at becoming more physically fit in the future. I will strive for perfection and hope to deliver a positive feedback in my total recovery. My many thanks to the Staff of Flagstaff Bone and Joint, and especially, Dr. Flint. Your kindness is &/was greatly appreciated.”

  • “I am so glad to share with you my experience with you, actually both experiences. My first was a complete R. shoulder replacement. I must confess I was uncertain about having this done , no matter the discomfort I was having. I listened to Dr. Flint and was amazed at his apparent skills and concern with my problem. Well the surgery went as expected and then came the therapy. First let me say that I am totally happy and amazed at the results, I have found no limitations and other than an occasional click or catch my shoulder works as good now as when I was a young man, I just don't work it as hard as when I was Superman. Thanks so much for all the care by your staff and hospital staff. Yes I would have the same surgery done again if needed. Now on to the therapy, I really wish my experience with the therapy clinic in Kingman was all that I experienced in Flagstaff Bone and Joint. I'm going to leave it at that because just the remembering of it brings up issues. The second was my L Shoulder clean-up surgery. It did get rid of the ring of fire about the size of a baseball at the top outer curved portion of my arm, however I have had so much ongoing pain about 2 1/2 inches down from the crown or curved portion, at times the pain is def. a 10+ and still continues to this day, over two years later. I would never recommend this procedure to any one, sorry about that. Guess I had such a good time with the first that I was expecting as good with the second. My Thanks to The Flagstaff Bone and Joint Clinic Jim D.”

  • “From the beginning, Dr. Flint has been very informative of my condition and thorough with the testing, X-rays. etc. My rotator cuff was no longer able to be repaired and a replacement was what I needed to decide on, and Dr Flint explained the reverse procedure that was needed for this surfer. I was in pain, losing strength and motion with my right arm, and having difficulty sleeping at night. My surgery was scheduled with all the pre-op dates, and a class was offered to answer questions and give suggestion for preparing for the surgery. The surgical experience was successful, with Dr. Flint guidance and encouragement with the recovery road ahead I knew I had made the right decision. Living 40 minutes east of Kingman, my physical therapy was scheduled at Deering Therapy and I received excellent care and treatment there for 6 months. I continue to work on my own with exercises to continue gaining strength and range of motion.”

  • “Living in the Dewey/Prescott Valley area of the state, I have chosen to travel up to Flagstaff Bone & Joint for years now. I have orthopedic needs in hips, knees, hands and shoulders that I trust to no other orthopedic team. My husband was an emergency room physician for 38 years, and believed physicians in any specialty could be their best when associated with a Level I trauma hospital, with this group of orthopedics are. This trip I returned to Dr. Flint for my hand and shoulder. We talked, he listened, and we discussed options at this time because I am less than a year from having Medicare, but have no insurance at this time. We opted for steroid injections and Dr. Flint is aces.  Dr. Flint is also tender-hearted and helpful to me over the recent death of my husband.  I have brought several friends up to Flagstaff for this team - and those who chose to stay in the local Yavapai County orthopedic arena have not had good outcomes. Each one has said, in that ideal 20-20 retrospective view, that they should have listened to me. The friends who have seen the wonderful docs in this group have received quality care - as have I.”

  • “My second surgery with Dr. Flint. We found his clinical skills outstanding in every way. My husband is a physician and I spent a large part of my career as a health educator in film, video and print working with Physicians who were experts in their fields. I say this to indicate that we have a broad frame of reference to judge physicians who care for us. Dr. Flint's clinical skills, compassion, caring and patience are a blend not found in every surgeon. He has a rare gift and that we so appreciate. Even our PT commented on how impressed she was with my care and his professional guidance and communication. We have already referred several friends to Dr. Flint and are so grateful that a PT at Entire Care in Sedona told us about him.”

  • “I have a torn tendon in my right shoulder and thought I would need surgery.  Shared with the doctor that I did not want an MRI due to a fear of enclosed spaces. He re-assured me that it would be okay to have an x-ray. After reading the x-ray, the doctor said that I could try therapy first and see if that would help (and it was well worth the effort). It was comforting to know surgery was not the only option.   The visit was fast and thorough which was appreciated.”
