My Comeback Story: Nancy F.

Nancy-F
Hip Replacement Surgery

My surgery was performed on October 3, 2025. Any anxiety or apprehension I had been experiencing was erased as soon as I checked in at the front desk that morning. My husband, daughter, and I were greeted warmly and efficiently at the front window. I then proceeded to the pre-op area to be prepared for surgery. All of my questions were answered as I was guided through each step leading up to the operating room.

Dr. Ludwig came in to “autograph” my right hip and reconfirm the procedure. The staff at Flagstaff Bone & Joint are truly outstanding professionals. They make you feel that they are there because they want to be there to ensure you feel confident and cared for during your procedure. You are their number one priority.

I departed the facility using a walker. Within a few hours after surgery, I was able to walk around my home. I was up, taking nourishment, and talking about my surgery to anyone who would listen. After four days, I was able to go outside and walk with a cane, assisted by a family member. At my four-week checkup with Dr. Ludwig, I was given a complete release, with a reminder to return for a one-year follow-up.

I came away from this experience with a renewed confidence in and respect for the medical profession in the Flagstaff area. The ENTIRE Team Ludwig (you know who you are 😊) does an amazing job for their patients. Additionally, the use of the patient portal provided great insight into what took place during the procedure, including access to the operative transcripts.

I cannot emphasize enough how much proper nutrition and aftercare also contributed to my amazing recovery.
