My Comeback Story: Kathy B.

Kathy-B

I was planning to leave for an Alaska hiking trip in 6 days when I fell off a step ladder rupturing my ACL. I had trained for months and was emotionally devastated. Dr Moezzi fixed my injury with an allograft ligament. During the operation, he also trimmed my meniscus due to tearing. Given my age and arthritis already being present in my knee, my recovery was harder than usual. Dr. Moezzi was caring and empathetic. He seemed to understand my frustration. I was doing the work, but not progressing quickly. I had a post-op hyaluronic acid gel injection into the knee for the arthritis, which helped me greatly. ACL recovery is long and hard, but I finally started hiking 9 months post-op. I now hike 3-4 times weekly. I just completed my Alaska trip hiking 6-7 miles per day for 7 days straight!
