My Comeback Story: Jim H.
I went in for my third epidural yesterday, 02/05/2026. I have been in considerable pain for the past three weeks, which made it difficult to do my stretches, stand, and hike. Dr. Swain performed two epidurals, one on each side of my spine.
There was some discomfort, I won’t lie, but it was certainly tolerable, so I don’t feel anesthesia is necessary for me.
This morning, 02/06/2026, I am feeling great. I feel I can restart my stretches gently and begin my hiking regimen today, but I will take it slow and easy for the two-week recovery period outlined in my discharge instructions.
Thank you, Dr. Swain, and that thanks extends to your entire surgical team, as well as your pre-op and post-op staff. Everyone was professional and caring, which made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire procedure.
