Sports physicals raised record-breaking amount to give back to local schools

Flagstaff Bone & Joint provided 166 sports physicals for local student athletes on Saturday, June 3, and raised $1,660—a record-breaking amount which will all be given back to the athletic departments of the schools the athletes attend. Each physical was performed by a licensed healthcare/orthopaedic provider and cost $10 for the student athlete. In addition to donating 100% of proceeds, Flagstaff Bone & Joint matched the amount brought in from the student athletes of Coconino High School and gave their athletic department $1,860 total.

The Sports & Injury Team at Flagstaff Bone & Joint offered the physicals at the practice’s office located at 77 West Forest Ave., Suite 301, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. All area student athletes were welcome, with no insurance needed to get the $10 price.

“We are very proud of our student athletes and happy to provide this service and make sure they are physically prepared for their upcoming sports seasons,” says Torey Botti, M.D., sports medicine specialist at Flagstaff Bone & Joint. “We understand that they need to have these physicals performed, and we enjoy the opportunity to give back to schools while meeting that need.”
