Flagstaff Bone & Joint Raises $1,400 for Local Schools With Proceeds From Sports Physicals

Flagstaff Bone & Joint recently raised $1,400 for the athletic departments of local schools during their annual sports physical event held on Saturday, June 1, at their Flagstaff office, located at 77 West Forest Ave., Suite 301, from 8 to 11 a.m. The practice’s licensed healthcare professional performed 140 sports physicals for local student-athletes.

The specialized bone, joint and muscle providers at Flagstaff Bone & Joint provided expert, low-cost pre-participation physicals for student-athletes at $10 each. In addition to donating 100% of the proceeds made from their sports physical event to the athletic department of each student-athlete’s school, the practice matched the amount brought in by the student-athletes of Coconino High School, donating $630 to their athletic department.

Throughout the course of the sports physical event, the practice was able to serve student-athletes from:

  • BASIS Flagstaff.
  • Coconino, Flagstaff and Williams High Schools.
  • De Miguel, Knoles, Marshal and Puente de Hozho Elementary Schools.
  • Flagstaff Junior Academy.
  • Maine Consolidated School.
  • Montessori School of Flagstaff.
  • Mount Elden and Sinagua Middle Schools.
  • Northland Preparatory Academy.
  • San Francisco de Asis Catholic School.

“We are thankful to everyone who participated and for the opportunity to give back to these players and their teams,” says Torey Botti, M.D., sports medicine specialist at Flagstaff Bone & Joint. “It’s fun and humbling to take part in helping student-athletes get back to their sport or sports, and this annual sports physical event tradition is just one way that we get to do that.”
