Flagstaff Bone & Joint's Annual Sports Physical Clinic Raises Record $3,860 for Northern Arizona Student-Athletes
Flagstaff Bone & Joint, Flagstaff's only independent physician-owned orthopaedic practice, hosted its annual Sports Physical Clinic on July 25, serving a record 386 student-athletes from more than 25 schools and youth organizations across Northern Arizona. The clinic raised $3,860, with 100% of the proceeds returned directly to the participating athletic programs.
In addition to donating every dollar raised during the event, Flagstaff Bone & Joint will match funds raised by athletes from Coconino High School and Flagstaff High School. Through athlete participation and the practice's matching contribution, Coconino High School will receive $1,740, and Flagstaff High School will receive $1,600 to support their athletic programs.
"Our annual Sports Physical Clinic is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the health of local student-athletes and support the schools that serve them," said Dr. Darius Moezzi, practice president, senior partner and sports medicine surgeon. "Seeing this event continue to grow each year is a testament to our team's dedication and our strong partnerships throughout Northern Arizona. We're proud to help young athletes prepare for a safe season while giving back to their athletic programs."
The clinic was made possible by 32 volunteers, including four physicians, six advanced practice providers, six physical therapists and athletic trainers, and 16 staff members. Together, they made this the largest sports physical clinic in the practice's history, surpassing last year's record by more than 100 physicals. Athletes received affordable pre-participation sports physicals for just $10, with every dollar collected returned directly to the participating athletic programs.
