Flagstaff Bone & Joint provided 104 sports physicals for local student athletes on Saturday, June 2, and raised $1,040 in proceeds, which will all be given to the athletic departments of the schools the athletes attend. All area student athletes were welcome. The Sports Medicine Center at Flagstaff Bone & Joint offered the physicals at the practice’s office, located at 77 West Forest Ave., Suite 301, from 8 to 10 a.m. last week.
Each physical was performed by a licensed healthcare provider and cost $10 for the student athlete. In addition to donating 100% of the proceeds to each school’s athletic department, Flagstaff Bone & Joint matched the amount brought in by the student athletes of Coconino High School, donating $550 to their athletic department for a total of $1,100.
“At Flagstaff Bone & Joint, we understand that preventative care is paramount, especially when it comes to the safety of our student athletes,” says Darius Moezzi, M.D., sports medicine specialist at Flagstaff Bone & Joint. “We are thankful to everyone who participated, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back to schools while meeting an important need for student athletes.”
