Jennifer Almendarez is a certified physician assistant who joined Flagstaff Bone & Joint in 2012 after relocating to Arizona from Connecticut. She works with the spine team which consists of: Dr. John Hall, Dr. Marshall Meier, and Paul Knott, P.A.-C. Her focus with the Spine Center at Flagstaff Bone & Joint is in spine disorders and osteoporosis care (bone health).
She obtained her bachelor of science in allied health studies, as well as her master's of science in physician assistant studies from Springfield College in Massachusetts. She has an extensive background in emergency medicine, as well as cardiothoracic surgery and hospitalists medicine. In the clinic, Jennifer provides injections, fracture care, as well as evaluation of new and established patients of Dr. Hall’s and Dr. Meier's. In the operating room, Jennifer functions as a first assistant to Dr. Hall. In this capacity, she can prep and drape the surgical patients, provide exposure for the surgical site via retraction, close surgical wounds, and apply appropriate dressings.
In addition to her role on the spine team, Jennifer is the lead clinician of the osteoporosis program at Flagstaff Bone and Joint. She is certified to interpret DXA (bone density studies), and also has advanced training in the treatment of osteoporosis. Jennifer is a Ambassadors Leadership Council Member for the National Osteoporosis Foundation. She believes in providing an individualized approach to each patient, in order to ensure the best outcome.
In her free time, Jennifer is an avid equestrian and enjoys hiking.
